International e-commerce store for van body solutions with support for 4 languages.

About the Project

Provan is a European leader in professional van bodies that transform ordinary commercial vehicles into functional, efficient and reliable workspaces. The company was born out of a simple idea: combining practicality, safety and intelligent use of space in designs tailored to the needs of professionals and businesses working on the road.
From a local garage, Provan has grown into a trusted European partner for companies and individuals who need more from their vehicles. They specialize in custom-made solutions – from bodywork for electricians and plumbers, to mobile offices and specialized spaces for various industries.
The client needed a comprehensive online store that not only showcases products, but above all supports international sales – both B2B (companies buying for their fleets) and B2C (individual professionals). The biggest challenge was the full localization of the system into 4 languages (English as the main language + 3 others) and adaptation to the different sales norms of the European Union countries.
We implemented the project comprehensively from scratch – we designed the design, built the e-commerce platform, implemented the multilingual system, ensured compliance with EU regulations and conducted full pre-implementation testing.

Expectations

1 Fully localized into 4 languages – the system must work in English (as the main language) and 3 other European languages. Everything – from the interface to product descriptions to system messages – must be professionally translated.
2. aligned with EU sales standards – the store must comply with RODO, the Omnibus Directive, Consumer Rights Directive standards and other regulations in member countries. This is crucial for international sales.
3. Supporting B2B and B2C sales at the same time – different price lists for companies and individual customers, VAT-EU invoices, support for company accounts, special discounts for business contractors.
4. presenting complex products – van bodies are complex products with many variants, configuration options, technical specifications. The system needs to present all this transparently.
5. professional and premium – design and UX must reflect Provan’s professionalism as a trusted European partner, not a small local workshop.
6. integrated with international logistics – handling deliveries to various EU countries, calculation of transport costs, tracking of shipments.
7 Scalable – the system must be ready for growth and expansion into additional European markets.

Challenges

Prior to the partnership, Provan did not have an e-commerce platform capable of handling international sales and the diverse needs of B2B and B2C customers. We identified key challenges:
  • Lack of international online presence – Provan functioned mainly locally, and the potential for expansion into the European market was untapped due to the lack of an international sales tool.
  • Language barrier – servicing customers from different European countries required a multilingual system. Lack of professional product translations and interface limited sales opportunities.
  • Complexity of EU legal norms – selling in different EU countries requires compliance with local regulations on e-commerce, consumer protection, RODO and VAT. This complicates the setup of an international store.
  • Differences between B2B and B2C – companies buying for fleets have different needs than individual professionals (different price lists, VAT-EU invoices, discounts, credit limits). It is a challenge to serve both segments in one system.
  • Presentation of complex products – van bodies are not simple e-commerce products. They have many variants, configuration options, technical dependencies. What was needed was a system that would show all this clearly.

Project Process

We started with an analysis of our target European markets, an understanding of the specifics of B2B vs B2C sales in the van building industry, and a detailed research of legal requirements in EU countries (RODO, Consumer Rights, VAT, omnibus directive). This is the foundation for international e-commerce.
We developed a comprehensive localization strategy into 4 languages – not only the interface, but also SEO, product content, system messages, policies and regulations. We worked with native speakers to provide professional, non-machine translations.
We designed the interface taking into account cultural differences in design perception, shopping habits in different countries and B2B vs B2C user preferences. The design had to be universal, yet premium and professional.
We built an e-commerce platform with an advanced price management system (different for B2B and B2C), company accounts, VAT-EU invoices, integration with international logistics and a translation system. All compliant with EU standards and RODO.
We conducted intensive functionality testing in each language, verification of compliance with EU regulations, payment and logistics integration testing, and user testing with representatives from various markets. After implementation, we provided full support.

Solutions

To create an online store ready for European expansion, we designed and built a comprehensive e-commerce platform combining multilingualism, EU compliance and support for B2B and B2C sales. All tailored to the specific needs of the client.
  • Full localization into 4 languages – professional translations of everything from the interface to product content and legal documentation.
  • Compliance with EU standards – RODO, Consumer Rights Directive, omnibus directive, VAT-EU – all in compliance with regulations.
  • Dual B2B & B2C – a single system serving businesses and individual customers with appropriate functionality for each segment.
  1. Multilingual system for 4 European languages

We have implemented an advanced localization system that supports English (the main one) and 3 other European languages. This is not a simple translation plugin – everything has been professionally translated by native speakers: interface, product descriptions, technical specifications, system messages, privacy policies, regulations, transaction emails. Users from different countries can fully use the store in their own language, which significantly increases conversions and builds trust.
  2. Compliance with EU sales standards

We have designed the store in compliance with all key European Union regulations: RODO (personal data protection), Consumer Rights Directive (consumer rights, returns, complaints), Omnibus Directive (price transparency, feedback), VAT-EU (cross-border invoices). The system automatically adapts legal messages, VAT calculations and return procedures to the customer’s country. This eliminates legal risks and builds a professional image.
  3. Dual B2B and B2C system in one platform

We have built a platform that equally serves companies buying for their fleets (B2B) and individual professionals (B2C). Business customers, after registration and verification, get access to special wholesale price lists, volume discounts, VAT-EU invoices, credit limits and a dedicated account manager. Individual customers have a standard purchasing process. The system recognizes the type of customer and automatically adjusts the interface and functionalities.
  4. Presentation of complex van body products

We designed a product presentation system that copes with the complexity of van bodies – many variants, configuration options, technical dependencies, compatibility with vehicle models. Each product has detailed technical specifications, installation photos, dimensions, weights, materials, certificates. The system guides the user through the configuration and shows only compatible options. This eliminates purchasing confusion and increases customer satisfaction.
  5. Integration with international logistics

We have integrated the store with international logistics systems, which allows automatic calculation of delivery costs to various EU countries, tracking of shipments, order status notifications and returns management. The system takes into account the specifics of transporting large and heavy products (van bodies), offering different delivery options (pallets, freight, pickup) depending on the country and size of the order.
  6. Premium design for European leader

We created a professional, premium design that captures Provan’s position as a trusted European partner in van bodies. The elegant color scheme, modern typography, high-quality product photography and clear layout build trust and emphasize the company’s professionalism. The design is universal to different European cultures, but at the same time stands out from the competition.
  7. Comprehensive implementation from scratch

The entire project – from design, development, testing and implementation – was carried out by our team. The client received a ready-made solution fully tailored to his needs: multilingualism, EU compliance, dual B2B/B2C, logistics integrations. Everything works, is tested and ready to handle international sales.
